Fixing blinds nightmare
We have a 2015 Vegas 25.2. The pleated blinds over the dinette broke. Looked at several videos on how to fix ourselves; Jer said, okay, I got this. Purchased string kit and were ready to go.
Then the problems begin. Other than the visible screws at the bottom of the valance on each side, the screws were hard to find. The valance was screwed into the cabinet above with the blinds also screwed into the valance (they made a hole in the blinds for the screws). We found the top of the blinds were without a bracket.
We thought taking it down was hard. but reattaching was a nightmare.
In order to reattach valance and blinds, we had to get a hand up in the valance to put screws in. After 2 hours we had one screw in and were calling Thor a few names. I said this was a Pi** poor job and Jer said it S**ks. We stopped working to go to purchase a long shaft attachment to our screwdriver and finally were able to get in several screws, but NOT where Thor had placed the original ones; our placement seemed better.
My verbalized thought to Jer was that the installers had run out of some equipment and jury-rigged the window treatment with no thought how someone would replace a broken blind. In the video, blinds easily attached to top bracket, which we did not have. Now everything is screwed directly into above cabinets.
Overall we have been happy with the Vegas, small problems but nothing major. We love the design. But seeing the failure in the quality control of the interior, it makes us question buying or recommending a Thor product again.
I have a couple pictures if anyone interested.
