We pulled an 18' boat behind a class C for over 10 years on a single axle trailer. The boat, motors and gear weighed in at just under 2000 lbs. The proper trailer and tire size as well as towing speed make all the difference.

I agree; but make sure that you've got a good spare, and keep an eye on the trailer.

Aluminum Toy Hauler

I had the same problem a few years back. Needed a good lightweight trailer to haul my toys behind the RV. Sometimes it was a golf cart, Harley, Harley Trike or even an 1800 lb Polaris RZR 4 seater. So it had to be very strong but not too heavy. I wanted to be able to move it from my driveway to my backyard for storage without using a vehicle by myself. I researched everything for about 4 months and it all boiled down the Aluma Trailer model 7712H. It’s all aluminum except the axle of course. The entire bed tilts up and down to allow easy drive on and off. It has plenty of ways to tie down whatever you are hauling, it trails like a dream and has nitrogen filled tires. I use my John Deere lawn tractor (put a trailer ball on the back) to pull it around to the back of the house for storage and up and down our long driveway on top of a hill when hooking or unhooking to RV or pickup. I liked the tilt type better due to the all aluminum deck and no tailgate to drag in the wind sticking up in back. Here are a few pictures. As I recall it was about $3,000 new.

That there is a nice trailer.

I ended up getting a carry-on 5x8gw.

Actually as I recall it was $3300 plus tax of course. There was a dealer near me that had it on the lot but they would not make any deals and wanted at least $800 more. I got on the computer searched for Aluma dealers, checked their inventory and called a few. I found a dealer about 100 miles away in Wisconsin (I live in Indiana) that offered this good deal. I drove up and got the new trailer they even hooked it all up to the back of my pickup for me. They were so nice and the young sales guy so professional and courteous that a few days after I got home I sent a fax to the owner of the place. I told him I didn’t know what they were paying the salesman but whatever it was it wasn’t enough and if they don’t take care of him somebody else will. I told them I would hire him into my company first chance I got.

Bob,

Nope. It’s only 12’ long. No need for brakes. Hauls almost 3000#.

I had them add electric brakes to my UTR-12 Aluma trailer.
Fully loaded: it's at 3200 lbs.
I figured that it couldn't hurt to have them.
