This year has sure made out traveling plans change for many reasons. We are staying in the upper mid-west for the most part and certainly avoiding several areas for all the reasons that many others are as well.

Going to be interesting to see how all this plays out and what all the newbies with their rigs wind up doing and what is available out there. Many parks we have been to have been filled all summer but with school starting that should alleviate that a bit.

Nothing wrong with that. East coast and NE states have charged people in state parks for years if they're out of state. They're funded by state taxpayers and if you don't pay the tax since you don't live there, you should pay a price....no free riders permitted.

This 12 month period will find a lot of inventory of cheap, used TT on the lots. many have jumped in and didn't see the sign...."beware of sharks in the water" Oh well, live and learn.

Whatever additional motivation there may have been, these things cost money, and when ends don't meet (ie, budget shortage) prices typically go up. And, of course, the state residents are the ones whose taxes make up any shortage. Not really difficult concepts. The world don't owe us a living.

Bob,

You might check most of your neighboring states in the Northeast, most of them have different rates of some kind for residents vs non-residents for their state parks.
