RAM dealer or RV dealer

Hi all,

Are there any opinions on getting the general vehicle side service done at the RV dealer or a RAM dealer for vehicles that apply to that.

I realize the RV dealer is responsible for maintaining the overall purchase, but might be less quipped to handle the RAM side. THoughts?

Thank you in advance!

I have a Mercedes Benz chassis motor home and use my local Mercedes Benz dealership for vehicle related maintenance. Since you have a RAM chassis, I would think that a Dodge/Ram dealership would be the way to go for vehicle related maintenance as long as they are equipped to handle a larger/heavier vehicle(motor home).

Very few rv dealers have ASE certified automotive technicians. Can your dealerships tech spell RV or chassis?

thanks

Thanks, I figured that would be the way to go. I happen to have a RAM truck right now anyway and I like my service guy.

The RAM side has a warranty and the RAM dealer would pick that up too.

How actually good are the RV dealer's auto mechanic facilities.

That has been my experience as well.

If there are things that need to be done on my Ford F53 chassis I take mine to an independent truck fleet service center that works on motorhomes or a Ford truck service center. The issue with some Ford truck centers is some will refuse to work on motorhome.

In your case if you have a working relationship with a local Chrysler, Dodge, Ram dealer all the better.

Our RV dealer would just take our Aria to the Frieghtliner shop for any chassis issue.
