A. It’s expensive
B. It’s heavy
C. It takes up a lot of room
D. Many folks haven’t changed a tire in decades and don’t intend to start now. Especially on a motorhome.
E. Most people have some sort of roadside service plan
F. In a motorhome you can be reasonably comfortable while you wait for help.

That said, it’s not hard to find a way to carry one. And even if you don’t intend to ever change it, it’ll make the roadside service go a lot better if you have your own good spare. I don’t carry one at present but did for years on my class C.

Spare Wheel

Thanks for your thoughts, we have just come back from Arizona, we had road side assistance, thankfully did not have to use it but was wondering how they would handle a flat without a spare to use.

They would bring a tire with them and mount it on your rim. That can get expensive as you are at the mercy of the local tire store to have one in stock and a resonable price. You could also be waiting a while for a truck with mounting capabilities.

Some of these new design motor homes leave vary little space for a spare, you may have to get creative.

Sherwood,
I too hate to be without a spare. So I use a Curt Spare tire mount that fits in the 2" towing receiver on the RV to carry the spare for our Vegas 24.1.
When we take our TOAD (2016 Kia Soul MT) I put the Spare tire in the towing receiver that I installed on the Kia using a 1 1/4" Curt Spare tire mount.
I tried using a 1 1/4" to 2" adapter on the back of the Kia but the spare just stuck too far out and was too low.
BTW: I had to order a real spare tire for the Kia Soul at it only came with a can of tire goo and a small compressor.
