Too good to be true.
My husband and I found a sweet deal on a 2014 Thor Four Winds 23', agreed on price, they gave us all their paperwork and manuals etc. to look over. We needed to do a final walk through at the dealer, the private seller was having it checked over and cleaned etc. They were no longer RVing, so letting us have leftover accessories. Then 2 days later, called and said they couldn't sell it for that amt., no mention of how much more, but it was like night and day. It is still listed, but we think it was a game of getting us hooked. We made a mistake of not insisting on a payment and signing something at the time we made the offer and it was accepted. They said no problem, don't worry, they trusted us, it was all good...We knew the guy was a real salesman type personality, flashed money, kinda odd, but we decided to ignore that. Ha! Lesson learned. Hopefully, he learned that getting someone invested and trying to manipulate, doesn't always work either!!
Good News though, We have found another motorhome, a 23' Thor Freedom Elite 2012, very good condition, single owner. We feel like it is a good option and my husband is very mechanical and checked it over and we are going to do that again today. Water, gen, roof, details we will check out even closer.
It does have the little extra of a very nice solar setup that he showed us and the type of fan he installed over the main bed is quite nice.
Some of the reviews I have read are better on the little older models than the new Freedom Elites, but that said, is there anything in particular we should look at as we look today?
PS This time we will definitely do a signed offer etc.!
Thanks for any advice! Djet24
