2018 slide motor jumps out

Hello everyone. We own a 2018 Thor Freedom Elite 30 fe. I just joined and I have an issue that needs addressed.
When we were looking at our camper 2 years ago (used, private seller) they had " jumped the track" on the slide. The owner had fixed it and we bought it.
Fast forward to last year. The slide stopped working on the other side. I went to check out the problem and found all sorts of DIY bs. The guy had cut out parts of the outside trim and put up old street sign to repair what he had cut.
It looks like the motor had popped up out of the 3 slots its supposed to sit in. They then ran a thin bolt through the sign peice to attempt to keep the motor from free spinning.When I place the motor back it dosnt sit down into those holes at all. I was wondering two things.
Does anyone know what the thread and the pitch of the studs are so I can find longer replacements?
Also, does anyone know if I can possibly take a brass drift and try hitting down the center of the mechanism that the motor sits on? I'm assuming it somehow is now up too high and that's why it is no longer contacting the stud holes. Thanks in advance for any advice.

The motor slips down in place and the gear on the end meshes with the gear for the slide mechanism. The screw from the outside simply keeps the motor in place by preventing it from spinning.

I saw this video before. Like I stated things have been butched up. It's not sliding down to where it should be. You can see where the motor and the shft meet and they are flush. It look like maybe the shaft is sticking up a quarter inch past so the posts don't sit in their holes.

Take it to an independent pro for a proper evaluation and estimate to repair.

Please don't start beating on your silde with a hammer and chisel

Sounds like the motor and shaft are not aligning properly.
IF they aren't you'll need to move the slide in or out till the motor drops into place, gently shaking the motor will help.
When/if the motor drops into place stop! Re install the locking screw. In the screw is damaged or missing take 1 out of another slide then a trip to Lowes etc will get you a new one.

So... a little more figuring out.

The shaft in the mechanism that the motor sits on was actually up past the top of the motor mount. So the motor would fit in the Grove for the shift but its studs wouldn't hit it and it would free spin. I took my brass drift and a hammer and gave it some light taps. Sure enough the sfaft went down and the motor fits much better. Still not flush, but much better. I'll tap it a little more tomorrow to see if I can get a few more hairs out of it.
Also the motor is missing a stud. So I ordered a cheap replacement motor and I'm going to steal a stud off of it so I have all four in place.
And to top it off, I'm now going to have to redrill the botched repair from before so I can add a keeper screw for the motor.
