After a few months of looking at various Class A diesel pushers and a few Super C motorhomes in September we made a decision.
We took delivery of a 2020 Entegra Accolade 37TS October 5th. The primary reason for going with the Accolade rather than the Seneca was there are no dealers around us with Senecas. With that said here are some of my observations.
- The structural warranty on the Accolade is 5 years whereas the structural warranty on the Seneca is only 3 years. Both coaches have the standard 2 year coach warranty
- When I looked on-line the price for both units was basically the same, however, the Accolade included the washer/dryer combo and the power theater seating options which were not included on the Senecas for the same price.
As to quality, there is an issue with the driver's side slide being too low and requiring adjustment and after the adjustment the slide area will require repainting so the striping and graphics line up. We have an appointment for Jayco factory service in Indiana to handle this since I do not trust the dealer for this work. Apparently this seems to be a common problem with the Seneca as well. Other issues we have that will be repaired under warranty are
- Electric cable reel does not rewind the cable (on order)
- Mud flat not secure which resulted in damage to the mudflap (on order)
- Driver's door seal required reattaching (complete)
- Bed trim replacement which was damaged by the dealer when they improperly reattached the bed prop. I posted info on this in another thread (on order)
- The bed prop requires replacement because it is bent thanks to the dealer (on order)
- Coach entrance door seal was replaced (complete)
- Entrance door electronic lock would not open with the key. I called Bauer and they sent me a new lock overnight and I have replaced the lock (complete)
- Two kitchen drawers would not stay closed while driving down the road. The drawer catches were re-positioned/adjusted (complete)
Items we had installed prior to delivery include
- Mobile Eye 6
- Solar panel and controller.
- Maxx Air vent cover
- Winegard Connect 2 LTE and WiFi booster
Also, during the test drive I told the dealer I felt a vibration from the tires and a slight pull to the right at highway speeds. According to the Entegra warranty, if these things are noted during the test drive the dealer must have the wheels balanced and front end aligned prior to delivery. My purchase offer required fit be done and I be furnished with the truck center service report for the repairs. It was done as well as Freightliner straightening the tracking of the steering wheel itself.
We are scheduled to do a 250 mile round trip, 2 night shake down trip this coming weekend so there will be more to follow.
