Lock Your garage doors

When we travel the garage doors can be opened easily by breaking the glass and pulling the release cord on the door opener. Pretty easy. I have stopped that by using a "Clamp" low enough so it's unreachable from the window. It may not stop them but it will make it harder for them.

We tied a knot in our release cord so that it can't easily be reached.
(But I like your trick with the clamp! )

Security cameras outside and inside the garage that trip a siren that notify the monitoring service and sounds an alarm that alerts the heavily armed neighbors.

They make electric automatic locks for garage doors.
Liftmaster 8500 openers come with those electric locks and allows you to open or close your garage from anywhere in the world and notifies you of an opening or closing all the while closing and locking the doors at a preset time in case you forget to close it. .
I suggest liftmaster 8500 for everyone.

My cameras are 22 bucks each and not only tell me when someone is where they shouldn't be, but follows their movements throughout the garage and stores it on the cloud while instantly sending pictures to my phone.

Blink cameras are battery powered wireless and can be placed anywhere utilizing their up to 2 yr battery life.

$100 gets you too many cameras and instant notifications.

Where did you find the Blink cameras for $22? Amazon has a 2 camera system for well over $100 and a 5 Camera system for I think it was $349...

My blinks were 22 bucks last amazon days, but the ones which follow you around are yi 1080 cameras.
The yi in place cams are 22 bucks retail and the steerable yi cams are 39 bucks retail.
Both are 22 bucks a few times a year.

My LiftMaster came with the power dead bolt and I couldn't figure out why I wanted it, but I installed it anyway.

I completely missed the easily reached pull cord near the easily broken windows.

You could always keep a couple of hungry mongrel dogs in that garage.
If somebody picked that door up: they'd get a "poop in your pants" surprise!

Wyze just came out with a blink type battery camera.
Way way cheap.

Also.
It's a very satisfying "culunk" when the electric bolt engages on those liftmaster openers.
It also signifies the door as fully closed if you don't see it actually seat to the deck.
I have cameras mounted inside the shop which allows me to verify door position.
And I use the android app to get notice of openings and closings and to open and close the doors.

The picture is a screen capture of my yi steerable and motion tracking cameras android app screen. Ithe camera is zoomed in quite a bit.

Garage doors without windows have been opened using a wire hanger grabbing the manual release. I put a very thin tiny tye wrap to block the manual pull. Manual pulling will break it with your weight, but not a wire hanger. When I leave, I lockout the opener and push the dead bolt which came with my Clopay garage door.

We opted for no handle on the outside so no dead bolt
