I40 is really nice going west until just before nm.
It is truly pitiful from there to the 15.
Ungodly.
I turned down an amg because I didn't think the 30 series tires could run on i40.

Worst smelling and dirtiest bathrooms ever.
Gas is $1 higher than any other place and pumps cutoff about 15 times a tank.

Williams, Arizona is a fun little town. They have the Grand Canyon Railway there. We found the drive to Sedona on 89A in our Jeep to be really pretty. I 2nd making the long trip to Page, Arizona. We did the Lower Antelope Canyon tour, and it was amazing! Have a great trip!

Hello Everyone,
I just completed 2,300 miles trip from northern CA to Arizona. Have never been to Arizona and was very excited to see it. Friends of mine go there every year to pick mushrooms so we joined them this time. My initial thought was: "Mushrooms? At this time of the year? In Arizona?" We drove to Holbrook and then Hwy 77 south to Show Low, Pinetop-Lakeside in the White Mountains area. Well, we did not find any mushrooms because it was still to dry and not too much rain fall yet altough the ground was moist enough and it sprinkled/rained almost everyday. If we would stay there another week (past Hillary tropical storm) we would have plenty of mushrooms. But, I was shocked to see such a beautifull area with mountains, forestry, lakes, nice highways. I felt like I am in Europe. The scenery reminded me of that. The days were very warm but not hot (no A/C) and nights pleasantly warm enough. This is not how I envisioned Arizona. We stayed at Hon-Dah Casino RV Resort. Nicely located, huge place with plenty of trees and shade. Talking to other RV-ers I have learned that many of them are from Phoenix, Tuckson and they spent the hot summer months right there. After staying there for 6 days I drove back to I-40 and west to visit Meteor Crater Landmark and then south again to see Montezuma Castle National Park. Another very interesting place. And then, Sedona. Wow, that is how I imagined Arizona. The town is beautifully located and surrounded by Red Rock Monuments. Place to see, Holy Cross Chapel!!! We arrived there 30 minutes before closing and they allowed us to enter the parking lot and park our couches there. Next day we drove to Havasu Lake and spent night at the State Park Campground right at the lake and Colorado river. What a place. I have never seen such a well organized, clean with showers, self serviced campground. Not in CA! That was it. We drove through the state and I was pleasantly surprised seeing such a different, beatiful and clean place. I probably live too long in CA. 😩 I highly recommend to visit the State. Not to mention, the gas is $2.00 cheaper a gallon, then in CA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will for sure be back to see more places you guys mentioned here. There was only one thing that surprised me. The I-40 is the worst freeway I have drove in my life. The pavement conditions in both directions, pretty much from CA to New Mexico are simply unbearable to drive. I thought my Axis will just simply brake apart or I will loose some tires or axles. Someone mentioned here windshield. Yes, my windshield is cracked now from stress by hitting huge pot holes every few seconds. That huge glass had enough and had to go. I have not noticed 10" crack on the passenger side, until I got home. Well, just contacted the RV Glass company to start the process of replacing the windshield. Also, driving home, we were hit by the storm and one of the wipers broke and the metal rod badly scratched the glass. I need to get better wipers. Any suggestions?
Anyway, trip was great. Arizona exceeded my expectations and some day, I will come back again.
Now, if I only knew about Duck's driveway and his open invitation to us, before my trip, he would be seeing me parked in his 2 mile long driveway and we would be enjoying good, Polish lager or pils🤣. Well, next time Duck, right? Thank you guys for good Arizona info.

We would live in Eagar, that last house on the row, but internet and cell didn't exist at the time.
I'm glad you found the white mountains. Few folk believe me when I use the word
Alpine.

I was the guy who had the broken windshield from I40. That highway flat sucks.

I am going back and forth with the glass guy, to determine the right model and size of the windshield . Apparently, the stamped numbers at the center bottomr of the glass do not specify that. I need to check again to see if I can find something else. This is the larger windshield 63"x78". I am also curious about the cost of this humongous piece of glass. The number I have heard yesterday mentioned 5 to 6K. Including instalation. What was your cost if you don't mind sharing?

My windshield was $3700.
They broke it upon installation.
Had to order another.
All together with labor it was about $5,000 to my insurance. Zero deductible.
Windshield place lost money...and my windshield leaks....

What slso surprised me, Duck, how good the internet connection was at the Hon-Dah Park. Never had any major issues with the phone or internet.

Sister has a place in Springerville. We spend considerable time in the area.
2nd(ok, 4th) home for us.

My Total Glass Coverage has $500 deductible. I am glad I did that. After all this is taken care of, I might revise that part. Leaking? I don't like that word. Any suggestion as to how to avoid that during the installation?

Your insurance has the responsibility to make complete sound repairs a replaced windshield that leaks has not been properly repaired. Take it back to the shop that did the repair if they refuse to fix it contact your insurance company and explain the problem. Most insurance repairs are warranted for defects. Leaking with a recently replaced windshield is a defect.
