2022 thor chateau temp sensor
How do I clear p2199 code on my 2022 thor chateau it’s the engine temp sensor protection. The vehicle runs fine can’t get the check engine light off.

You would need a scanner to read and reset the CEL.
You can try removing the chassis the negative and then positive battery cables and then turning the key to run to discharge the ECU. Then reconnect the battery cables. That will often reset the ECU and clear the CEL.
However, if it truly is a bad sensor or other issue, it will likely come back on.

That I can't answer... but if it is a '22, why aren't you letting a Ford Commercial Dealer fix it under warranty?

Google is amazing.
https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/fi...erature-sensor
You might get lucky at the autoparts store as you may have a person that will but put it in for you.
If not my money says go to you tube and search videos, you may see one being replaced.
On the flip side, how are you so sure engine is not overheating? I wouldn't jack around too much with an RV engine especially brand new, it is under warranty take it to Ford.

I'm all for DIY. But then there's that voiding the warranty on expensive parts thing...

I would schedule, if you happened to fix on your own easy to cancel. 9 times out of 10 those CEL really do see something. What if you replace and it still comes on?

Exactly... Key word here is 2022 Chateau
If nothing else the issue should be recorded on VIN # with Ford and the State should the unthinkable happen. Voiding the warranty on something like this plays into Ford's hand, although; I think Ford would gladly repair this item. But if a month is too long for OP; so be it; it is his Coach

Often you'll get a code that indicates a specific part bad but you find something else is the culprit (after a rough ride on the parts roller coaster). The sensor may be reading bad because the water pump may have an issue or a thermostat isn't functioning properly or just an air block in the cooling lines. If time is on your side, take it to a good shop near you that does a lot of work on big pickups. They have scanner equipment that will isolate much better than the consumer models. It may cost you a few bucks but...getting back on the road will repay you dividends. It will be a washout with the money you could spend chasing parts.

You mean like a covert Ford repair to avert the possibility of any future litigation? Sounds exciting; he could get some IT assistance with hacking Ford's Parts database and add espionage to list of possible things that could go wrong.
