basement storage floods
I discovered my 2017 Venetian A40 storage compartment floors have wood rot. Cause is water sprays into some of the compartment doors while driving in rain. Daylight can been seen around most storage compartment doors. Floors sag underneath. Anyone else experience this issue? I have appointment to get repairs.

Yes, there have been many of us with Venetians and Arias with this issue. Some had undersized seals, improperly installed seals, no sealant around frame rails. Ours had one compartment that the door did not cover the opening, and all of the seals were not pushed up into the corners when installed, letting the water just run in. Sorry this happened to you.

Yes, I've had the problem for two years now. Pulled the floor up and replaced the plywood. Then sealed it up on top and bottom, then added more molding o the doors. After it dried I added another sliding storage tray then left for Texas. Well it rained hard for an hour while driving and guess what? Yep, still wet. No idea how to fix it.

Several of my bays are in such bad condition that I'm afraid items are going to fall on road when traveling. Very interested in a resolution.

basement flooding
I am currently in Elkhart and have been in contact with Thor Factory Service Center and Total Value RV the selling dealer for our coach. We have an appointment at Thor Factory Service Center for the repairs to the basement floors and doors/seals.
I have since learned that there have been many issues with similar fooding in other Venetian, Aria and Tuscany models. Thor has modified storage compartment doors on newer models as a result. I have seen the new coaches. The bottom sill on the frame opening is higher and heavier seals used. Doors are redesigned to deflect road water.
I will post any updates after repairs are completed.

I have experienced the same issues. Added additional seal until I can get to factory. Have you had the work done yet? I am going to reach out to Customer Service and looking for an appointment in October when we’re gonna be in Goshen

Does Thor give more than a 90 day seal warranty on these coaches?

My appt is Sept 16. However, this past Monday we toured the factory again. Our host informed us that Thor was aware of the problem. As a result, the new A40 model storage doors have been redesigned. They are 1/2" thicker, no more double door compartments, the exterior of the doors are designed to deflect water, door seals are taller and thicker. We were permitted to get up close and see the modifications and allowed to take a small piece of the seal to compare with the existing seals. There are many more changes Thor has made that include termination personnel who signed off on PDI that had not actually been addressed. Several other issues that I won't get into. Hopefully, Thor will make good and see that our coach will be properly repaired and we have no further water intrusion.

basement flooding repair
I have to compliment the Thor Factory Service Center for the excellent service they provided. The entire storage compartment had to be removed, including the removal compartment doors. We had to remove all of items in the compartment. We found local facility to use at $27 a month. The total time for repairs was 5 complete days, some requiring 2 technicians. We were regularly informed as to what was being done. A total remake was done that included all new flooring, door seals, sealing all possible holes around frames, walls, etc. We had to be out of our coach for 2 nights. A Comfort Inn 6 miles away was only $75 per night with Thor discount. If you have to go through this process be patient, don't be hostile as the Service Center is there only to help coach owners. Management understands what coach owners are going through. We weren't they only consumers at the Service Center with similar water intrusion into the storage compartments. You will be surprised when the repairs are made and how Thor respects coach owners.

basement flooding
All repairs have been completed regarding basement flooding. All floors replaced and nearly every door seal. One important thing to check. After repairs do not sign off until you drive in the rain. The rain bay will not create the issue of road spray. We drove in a storm which showed additional leaking around the main steel rails in forward pass through compartment. Additionally, check your hydraulic compartment. No foam sealant had ever been done in there. This allowed water to enter the compartment. We pointed out the large openings where wiring harnesses came in . A technician at another facility said the opening was needed for ventilation. WRONG! Factory tech sealed every opening he could find. Again, due diligence.......thoroughly inspect all repair work before finalizing the bill.

I spoke to service Center manager and he said they would honor any additional repairs for the same issue. I would be allowed to take coach to any authorized Thor facility for the repairs as the work is documented. The other faculty would have to contact Thor prior to doing any repairs and there would be no charge imposed on me.
