bath vent

I just spent the better part of the day gathering new parts, tearing out the old vent in the bathroom, and installing a new one.
All that time just fix a 5 second screw up.
I forgot to crank the lid down before I backed it into the shed. I thought I was going to get by with a new lid, but it must have done more to it then I could see. New lid went on OK, but wouldn't close tight.

Oh happy days when we do things like that. Look at the brightside, it was a vent and not the AC unit.

I hope that when your did the repair, you replaced the buzz bomb with a "fantastic" type fan.

I thought about it, but really didn't think we needed one in the Bathroom. We have one over the bed and that pretty much takes care of it when ever it's needed. I was pleasantly surprised how quieter the new one is compared to the old one. The old one was nasty.

I am faced with the same issue of sorts. Changing out the vent to a fantastic fan over the bed. Have a question regarding what is used to seal the housing to the rubber roof. I have picked up the lap sealant from Dicor which I am to use to cover the outside of the housing but wonder what is required between the housing and the roof as a seal? Can someone enlighten me?

I used Dicor self leveling lap sealant. After I got the old one out it was just a matter of cleaning up the area with rubbing alcohol, letting it dry. Then I put a small bead of dicor sealant on the roof where it would be under the flange. Set the fan housing in the hole, screws went down into original holes, then put the sealant over the top. Sealing the edges and up over the screws.
Hope this helps.
