Angry Coach 12 Volt Battery Disconnect

Suddenly, when I press the switch to disconnect the 12 volt system, it will not go off. Suggestions please for solving this problem. Could be the switch itself but other things to look at?

Hello, I think you just answered your own question. I would start with the switch first.

There a few items that that disconnect will not disconnect;
The LP/CO detector, slide/jack motors & typically the clocks on radios or other LED illuminated switches.

You probably have a disconnect switch that sends a signal to a latching relay that opens or closes depending on whether the switch is on or off. It is very doubtful that the switch is bad and much more likely that the latching relay is bad.

You can check the switch by removing it but keeping the wires attached. Check to see if the voltage jumps to 12V when you switch it to on and the other terminal jumps when you switch it to off. If so, the switch and the power to it is good so look at the latching relay which may be bad.

If you don't have power to the switch then look at the source to find the problem.

What Make/Year/Model RV? What makes you think " it will not go off"? It is NOT a "12 volt system" disconnect; it is a house battery disconnect. If you are plugged into SP you will still have your 12 VDC system and loads powered by the converter, but you won't be charging the house battery(s) if disconnected.
