On going AC & heat

The fan won’t shut off so it either gets too cold with the ac, or too watm with the beat.
Husband put a new thermostat in that didn’t correct the problem.
What else could it be and where do we go to get whats need to fix it?

Teena

Make, Year, Model RV? Crystal balls don't work around here. Which fan? there is one in the Air Conditioner and one in the furnace; not to mention bathroom and vent fans.

2007 Dutchmen Colorado.
When turning on the AC at the wall beside it is the temp control lever. When we make the adjustment to get the ac to turn off or not come on as much as we do in our own home the ac just continues to run.

I misunderstood my husband….the heat doesn’t come on at all.

So the A/C fan runs all the time? There is a fan control that has 2 or 3 options:

On/Auto, or
Auto/Low/High.

Switch it to AUTO.

There isn’t these options. Only buttons that you push to either start the AC or heat.

I suggest that your thermostat is on the fritz
Right now you have two components that control your heat/AC as illustrated in your photo.
I’m not sure which component is faulty.

Try to re-wire with one new digital Coleman Mach thermostat.
About $60-75 on Amazon

That’s what I’d do.

This is probably a reputable handyman fix and not a self-fix.
Don't try fixxing it .
Call someone who knows thermostats.
Pay the $100 service call.
Have him get rid of whatever that switch is. It's ridiculous.

Thermostats are tough for anyone.

That’s not a digital thermostat. That’s the manual one that Thor puts in all the low-end units.
The component on the left is really old, old school.

So that’s probably the issue.

I agree with Ducksface. Call a mobile tech if you don’t know how to DIY.

I scrapped the Coleman Mach analog for a "repurposed" digital Honeywell from our house. Actually thermostats are the simplest of switches... a little reading, a few YouTube vids and you're there. Ours holds temperature perfectly... Thor actually did a good job with duct placement in our MH!

But I agree... if you're out of your comfort zone, call a pro.

Well it is 14 years old. We expected to find some things needing updated. Other tban this issue and needing a new awning we are pleased with the quality. Unfortunately we can’t buy new. This will get us out. When nee it listed for 35,000. For a Dutchmen tbe Colorado had more upgrades . I love my central vac system that works.

There was a adometic remotefactory mounted in tbe wall cupboard as you come into the unit.

After playing around a bit we do have heat.
That’s good news.
I’ll have to read the instructions I found when we bought this last month.
At least one issue is solved

Husband put in a honey well thermostat but it didn’t work.
Last night he spoke to someone that used to work on rvs.
He thinks it might be the motherboard

Good News - AC and Heat works

After finding the instructions for the dometic remote control I was able to set the temperature so tbe ac would shut off.
And, I also got the heat to turn on..
Wondering if something was bypassed to be able to use the remote and this is why the ac won respond to adjusting the thermostat.

Once again maybe most aren’t familiar with this because its 14 years old.

We’ve had a new travel trailer and used motor home before, and neither had this remote control option.

Thanks for all your help.
Now onto reading travel places and tips. See you sll later.
