I do exactly that when sanitizing. I connect my two 25' blue hoses together; stick one end in the gravity fill port; then carefully pour the appropriate measured amount of bleach into the other end of the hose. Then connect the hose to the bib and fill the tank.

Doing this I sanitize the hoses, tank and entire RV plumbing in one fell swoop.

I like this. I don't have gravity fill, but if I disconnect my 100' fresh water hose at the faucet and pour the chlorine bleach in that end with funnel and reconnect to water spigot and turn my city fill valve to tank valve it would push all the chlorine to the fresh water tank.

I still would need to remove my water filter as that is where I normally add chlorine, but that only sanitizes the fresh water supply lines.

How much bleach do you use per gallon of fresh water? I have 70 gallon tank. When sanitizing the supply line, I put in 16 oz in water filter canister.

My sanitizing procedure... each spring startup, or if the MH sits longer than about a month... or whenever I think it needs it...

I use one ounce bleach per 8 gallons of water... which equals 5 ounces of bleach for my 40 gallon tank. I pour the measured 5 ounces into the hose, then flush that into the tank. After water spits out of the gravity fill, I know the tank's full.

I wait about 15 minutes - during which I check that the water heater plug is installed, water heater pressure relief valve is open, and the low point drains are closed. By then the bleach is mixed well in the tank... and I turn on the water pump to pressurize the system. When water spits out the pressure relief, I close that.

I then go inside and run all faucets until all air is expelled. I usually let it sit overnight, then drain and fill the tank about halfway. Flush the lines again and drain the water heater.

After filling the tank completely and burping the air, it's ready to use.
