How to Get to Slide Rollers?

Anyone know how/if can get to the drivers side front slide rollers on a 2019 Aria 3901?

Heard some noise in drivers side front slide while driving on a curvy road here in CA. Looked at the slide to see if anything looked like an issue. Found four screws broken. Two look to be from the center roller plate, and two that hold down the center roller to the slide deck.

Thank you.

Will you be taking it to a shop or doing this yourself(no matter what)?
How I suggest access will depend on which.

Was hoping to repair the roller myself. I am traveling and have very limited tools.

Was hoping best case I could pull up the sofa, then the carpet, and there would be openings to the rollers.

Call a mobile rv repair guy.
It isn't worth the labor savings even if you did have holes cut in the floor already.

Very unlikely.

On a fifth wheel you can get to the rollers without pulling the slide. On a motor home, you have to pull the slide out. Look with a good flashlight under the slide. You will have to lift the sweep seal. You will them see the rollers. Then you will understand that the slide needs to be pulled to replace them.

Generally the MH's rollers are attached to the bottom of the slide at its center of gravity and the rollers roll on the coach's floor. There are usually two rollers on a small light slide and as many as 4 on the longer heavier slides Bedroom slides work somewhat differently, as the bed platform does not move, so the rollers are mounted to the mattress support and ride on the platform top.

Well, on my ACE there are 6 rollers mounted to the floor and there are plates attached to the bottom of the slide for the slide to easily roll on the rollers. Nothing attached to the slide itself except the motor rails.

You say you looked at the slide. And found 4 screws. How did you determine they had something to do with a roller? Where did you “find” the broken screws? Does the slide not move properly anymore? Do what Duck said, call a mobile tech. It would be only a shot in the dark guess for anyone one this forum to help with this. On mine, without the slide moving out, I can’t see a roller from the outside. With a Duck approved stethoscope I might be able to see it from the inside.

Here are a few pics. One pic of roller and missing pan head screw. Second pic of roller plate and broken flat head screw. Third pic of 4 screws - pan head and flat head. Found screws very close to roller/roller plate.

Slide does still extend/retract though making rubbing noises that were not happening before. Click image for larger version

Picture 2, does that hole look rusty? Did the flat head screws rust maybe? From water intrusion? Odd that the plates screws would shear off. Shouldn’t be under stress. No guess about the pan heads.

No, the sheered screws were not rusty.
