Gas smell generator

Axis 24.1 :
Is it normal for there to be a slight gas smell after you turn off the generator?
It dissipates in a few mins.

When you turn it off just push the stop button and release it. If you hold it in the stop position you may be kicking in the priming feature.

Did that. Just a quick push to stop.
Any other advice? Or is it normal?
