Awning Repair
Tree limb broke off and tore a hole (approx 2" in diameter) in the awning when it hit. Coach is less than 2yrs old and awning is in otherwise great shape so I would like to repair if possible. What is the preferred repair method or product?

Folks in here have mentioned using clear Gorilla Tape; with good results...

I used black 4" wide Gorilla Tape on mine. It does not look professional but it works. So far so good.

You can actually buy awning repair tape that has some up protectant quality. Be sure to tape both top and underside. It’ll last several years. It also works to patch a hole accidentally punched in fiberglass.

IMHO if you're willing to spend $20 for gorilla tape or $50+ for a roll of awning tape to use 6" just replace the fabric & be done with it. Depending on the awning size there are several online places that sell replace fabric for awnings, some original quality & some much better, that are suprisingly not that expensive & with another person & ladder it's a relatively simple job.
I replaced fabrics on all 3 slide toppers on my last 5th wheel, the most expensive was for the 12'er at $105. Took my SIL & I an hour to do the 1st & did the other 2 in less than an hour for both.

How to tape/repair the awning from the TOP, especially if the damage is more in the center part of the awning, rather than at the edges that might be accessible with a ladder or from the roof?

Roll the awning up to the tear, climb up the ladder, tape both top & bottom, roll awning back out & sit under it with a cold beverage.

Had 4" tear in a topper several years ago, I sewed it up using a canvas repair kit. Held until another tree limb extended itself automatically and ripped the rest of it.
Replacing a 20' long one of these took three people with the correct ladders.

Can't stop the awning mid-way. Push the button, it fully deploys. Push it again, it fully retracts. Tho' I suppose I could cut the power on the fly to stop it where the patch is needed...? (with a cold bevvie, of course)
