Slideout Fascia Separation

Hello everyone! We have a 2019 Thor Fourwinds 31Y and have run into a problem where the corner fascia caps are separating from the slideout exterior. Photos are attached. I contacted Thor about it and their reply was "The fascia corner cap is stuck on with eternabond and then sealed around the edge after installed." Has anyone else had this problem and if so what did you use to bond it back in place? I would like to use something that would be a permanent fix. Thanks in advance!

There's a few other threads here from people with the same issue. Some have even lost their corner pieces and had to order replacements. I don't recall any specifics about what was used to reinstall them but I think I would use the Proflex Geocell Adhesive/Sealant.

Thanks for the quick reply! I originally searched the forum with no luck but by using "slideout corner pieces" I found those threads you mentioned. Suggestions in those threads were various forms of double sided tape, gorilla glue and tape, tape and a rivet and the Proflex that you suggested. So I guess I'll be checking out the Proflex. My initial thought after Thor replied was to use Phenoseal Vinyl Adhesive Caulk (Lowes, Home Depot, etc.)

Mine are held on with flex glue. Seems to have worked better than any of the other products I've tried in the past.

Make sure both pieces are as clean as possible and remember that whatever was used in the factory didn't work.

Thank you one and all for the replies. They are greatly appreciated. I think I will do some 'winter doldrum' bonding tests with the Proflex and Flex Glue so I know what I'm using when spring breaks here in NE PA.

Clean both surfaces thoroughly and used 3m double side automotive trim tape.

I would use a 100% silicone to seal it up. Little tip after you apply a bead of silicone get a spray bottle with water. Spray it lightly and than spread the bead to get a clean look. This will help it from sticking all over the place and doesn’t make a mess. Same method works any where silicone is needed

I would never use silicone on the exterior of an RV.

Just looked up proflex made for RV. It flexible and bonds to any RV part it says.

Don't use it on your roof unless it is fiberglass. Proflex is not compatible with TPO or EPDM.

What Jimbo said:

Proflex is not silicon based.

It's a good idea to caulk all the seams where the molding attaches to the outside of the slide out to prevent leaks.

It is a bit pricy and may be overkill but read about panel bond like 3M etc. I put a separated bay door back together with this product and it was stronger then the factory original.
