Xantrex pro series inverter 1800

Hi. I have a Xantrex pro series 1800 inverter. I turned it on to run the refrigerator. I did not hear the fan go on, does the fan have a thermostat , or should be on all the time. I had engine running.

I've had several and each one of them had a fan that came on when the unit was under load.

Then turn off the engine?

Thanks. So if I turn the inverter on, turn refrigerator on, is that considered a load? If converter is ready 12-13 volts?

Inverter/Converter?

The Inverter takes battery 12 VDC voltage and creates 120 VAC for AC appliances like your refrigerator. It doesn't need your engine running.

A Converter takes 120 VAC from SP or the generator and converts in to 12 VDC to run DC loads and charge batteries. If 120 VAC is available to the Converter than it will also be available to the integral Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) in the Inverter which will pass that 120 VAC to the supplied AC loads without needing to use battery power.

Thanks for all the input. I also read in the Xantrex app. That the inverter fan goes on by thermostat. Can any verify that?

Thanks

Yes, I can confirm that. I use a Xantrex Prowatt SW2000 inverter with my home solar setup. My previous 2015 Forest River Georgetown Class A also had one onboard.

The fans are thermostat controlled. No loads, or light loads, the fans stay off. They are also variable speeds. These inverters are highly reliable. Mine has been running 24/7/365 for more than 12 years, powering a portion of our house.
