Tuscany trailer hitch

I need to replace my hitch. I called Reese since that is what they came with and they were discontinued in 2021. I called Thor and Lippert now supply's there hitches. I called Lippert but I need a Lippert chassis number for them to know mounting info to find a hitch. My chassis is a Freightliner. So I cant seam to find who to call or what to do at this point.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do beside a custom made hitch which is pretty expensive.

Thanks I appreciate any help.

Try calling eTrailer (etrailer.com). They can probably steer you in the right direction.

Thanks but I already tried them and they dont have anything but a universal and the problem with universal is most only go to 5k. They have a 10k but its a weld on. I really dont want to weld.

I have not tried them. I call Thor,Reese and Lippert today. I will try them tomorrow but base on the others responses it doesn't look good. I believe Freight liner will only have info regarding hole pattern etc.

You have a lead on a new one? If you do I would be soooo interested!

Long story but I had the rv stored for a few months and the storage place has to keep the keys to move stuff around. Well they moved it and bent the hitch.

i went to get a pic of my label ..i am sure they didnt change them over the years that much

but the label is bleached white. couldnt find a hard label.

but its huge and rated at 10k in fact it looks very much like a ford superduty or ram hd frame bolted hitch.

this one looks very much like it

I checked with Curt....the issue is knowing frame spacing along with hole mounting pattern. I can get that...but they look up in there system they want manufacture of coach and year...they dont have anything.

Reese told me it was custom made for Thor and it was discontinued in 2021.
They have no cross reference.
I can get a better pic of bar code but I believe part of it is faded.

Its crazy that Thor, Reese and Curt dont have anything. I cant believe that the hitched changed for lets say 2012 or 2013? But the representative from
Thor did not mention it possibly fitting...they just told me that Lippert now supplies there hitches. It been a total run around calling all of the suppliers.

It was bent. Not due to weight. The storage place essentially jack knifed the rig and it pulled the hitch to one side about 1"

I bet if you drive into a U Haul full service maybe company owned facility, show them the problem and ask if they can fix or replace with same rating they will find part and replace with new the entire thing for less $400.

You just have to be patient with the front desk until you get the real tech person to look at. If you try to call them, you wasting time. You will know if the Tech is clueless, to which then verify if no other tech for you to comeback.

I suspect MORride put the hitch on the chassis. MORryde does for the Ford and Spartan chassis for Thor Industries coaches. MORryde has the capability to make you any sort of hitch. After they make the trailer frames for Airstream.

Sure that would be great....all they need is the last 8 digits.
But what I'm afraid of is if they don't have the hitch for a 2011 they wont have anything older....but maybe they have something for 2012 and newer just not sure if I have to have a vin for them to look it up? I will have to call tomorrow
morning.

I will give it a shot...I will look for a website and number. Mine is a freightliner chassis but its worth a shot.

I called Thor this morning. In 2011 is the last year of the 40' Tuscany's. I asked the rep to look for a hitch for newer...2012 and on. She did but found that from 2012 and on the Tuscany went to 45'. She was able to locate the hitch for a 2012 and it is made by Lippert and gave me the part number (346256). I called Lippert and the hitch is available and sent me a technical drawing so I could verify the mounting. Everything matches perfectly except there are 6 mounting holes instead of 4. So im planning on ordering one and hopefully some of the holes will line up or I may have to drill some.

Yeah sorry I meant 4 per side....8 total.

The new hitch has 6 per side 12 total and is still a 10k hitch
