Shade motor replacement tips

As you would expect, our slow rise motorized shade at the windshield quit working in the down position on a recent trip. I tried resetting the limits to no avail. I asked the CG for a reference on a repair service. They gave me a couple and luckily I got a good one.

He went through the motions and determined that the motor needed to be replaced. I called Thor CS and got the part number and then had it shipped direct from my dealer.

In order to get home, we removed the shade which required cutting the wiring. If you do this, be sure to mark the wire colors. The motor wire colors are not the same as the coach wiring. The removal of the motor is pretty simple (4 screws). Before inserting new motor test it and make sure the shade is rolled up. Then insert new motor and replace shade. I would highly suggest two people for this job. Let me know if any questions.
