clear paint for faded nose cone?

I have the severely faded nose cone on my class C. seems to be a rather common issue. A couple years ago I was shocked at how well the acrylic floor polish trick made it look....(scrubbed entire coach with barkeepers friend, then many light coats of floor polish). Sadly, it didn't last forever. I had full intention of refreshing it with a new coat or two every so often but life got in the way and never did anything with it. It's looking pretty bad, & I was thinking today about planning a weekend to re-do the project

then I had an idea....

I figure the floor polish brought back the shine by filling in the micro cracks in the oxidation. I wonder if hitting the entire nose cap with rattle can clear spray paint would work as well, and maybe last longer.
Seems the potential down side is if it turns bad over time but is hard to remove.
Wondering if any of you have tried it. What was your experience?
