The seal around the cover outside is good. The only way water can get in to the furnace is through the vent. If you look at the picture of the vent tube, the angle is down. It's supposed to be up. Water flows downhill and if it was pointing up this wouldn't have happened. The outside compartment was basically dry. The water dripped out of the furnace for a couple of hours so I'm hoping the furnace isn't damaged.
