I would call this Motorhome Assembly 101. There are certainly plenty of questionable engineering design examples, but I don't think that the engineering drawing specified quite that many staples for that block of wood.

I took the Thor and Newmar factory tours a few weeks ago and one guy in the Newmar factory was able to make his staple gun sound like an automatic weapon while stapling fabric to a piece of OSB. He was shooting the staples in way to fast for me to count how many he put in each piece, but it certainly seemed to be an excessive number for that small piece of OSB.
