sometimes using a match, or a small wood 'splinter', can put enough 'extra' into the hole so that the screw has more to grip against... but, also, if you can access the rear of the fiberglass rear cap, you can do as said above, and add your own 'attachment point' for the screws - even a thin plywood piece would suffice.
