ACE27.2 water coming out city connection when pump on

I purchased a used ACE 27.2 and am having to learn most things on my own. Purchased from a man who was battling cancer and was too weak to show me the ropes. Figured out with YouTube vids and manual how to sanitize and water tank and lines and to turn on pump (it worked) but when pump is on water comes out the city connection. Is there a valve I was supposed to shut or perhaps a check valve that may be malfunctioning? I did find the valve by the tank and pump which I had to open to get water to flow to faucets other than that one I could not find any other valves. Thank you for any help. I am a retired firefighter and drove fire engines and worked with pumps and valves etc. but of course this is very different. Also this is my first RV so I am a total newbie! Thank heaven I have a neighbor who is extremely mechanically inclined.
