Congratulations on the Waze Decision.
So many on this site want to argue about the benefits of technology.
The 'Paper Map Gang' wouldn't have seen the things you saw on your detour and would have had to sit in traffic due to their decisions.

Dont forget about the iExit app. You'll find amazing museums along the way.
We stopped at a student staffed mammoth/dinosaur themed museum at a college with a big archeological department, and at a dairy/ice cream/meat at a college in SD with a farming program.
It's also the best time to try other nav apps like Trucks and sygic,

Just for fun consider a Harvest Host stopover.
Your rig can handle anything in the way of dirt driveways and such.
