Sodium Hydroxide is a very strong base, you do not want it on your skin

Acetic acid is an acid at the other end of the pH spectrum but nothing like muriatic or sulfuric

Nylon is easily melted by acids as cotton is also easily destroyed, but not as easily as nylon is melted

Completely different chemicals
