The answer would be "it depends!" Check with your state's SHIP (Senior Health Insurance Assistance Program). They can give generic information and explanation of your options. If you have VA or TriCare, that will impact your choice.

Medicare Supplement policies have been standardized since the late 80's. I have worked with them about that long. Plan F has historically been the most popular. Most folks who choose a supplement also choose a prescription drug policy.

Medicare Advantage policies make sense for some folks, but network limitation issues must be considered, especially for travelers. (Those plans must cover you outside your network for emergencies.)
