That's a nice setup with lots of flexibility. The truck may have a rear seat, so perhaps they can unhook occasionally in case they needed space for more than two people.

The original Smart cars (by Mercedes) where just under the 102-inch length that would normally be permitted on highways if hauled across truck; if I recall correctly. I think newer ones are closer to 106 inches, so I wonder if traveling with them sidewards like that ever becomes an issue with law enforcement.
