FWIW... and not a recommendation to anybody ... but... Our front bed mechanism has never seen bottom position and only gets to sync motors on the upper position. We've traveled a few times with the bed partially down and use it for storage ... no special pin modifications etc... yes, I know, NOT a good practice and I don't do that when traveling dirt roads but I figure worse case I deal with the issue if or when it happens as we simply don't need a bed there.
