Agree there is no correct answer.

I always carry one but my vehicle is light, easy to jack up, and wheel/tire weighs only 75 pounds. Plus it doesn't have dual rear wheels which simplifies a rear change even more.

If I were driving a large and heavy motorhome with 19.5- or 22.5-inch wheels I'd probably feel much different about the need to carry a spare, although I may still do it. In that case my expectation would likely be to get it replaced instead of doing it myself, which is what I'd do presently.
