I'm at that point also. Even a trip to Kroger is a road trip. Nice to be on a 100% "me schedule".

OK guys...they called me yesterday and said, since I will not be staying in the coach I need to winterize it. SO...please look at the pic and answer this question. This is the point where the water line comes directly out of the fresh tank under bed, turns 90 degrees upward with a "cut off" valve, then directly into the pump with this white cap just above it. Seems like, other than the hot water drain and bypass, I should just be able to remove the white cap, hook some type threaded hose up to that end of the hose...stick that hose in a jug or two on Pink Panther Pee and then just run the pump until everything comes out pink everywhere...including the water line under the fridge to the ice maker...right? Is this a standard garden hose thread on this white cap? Why didn't they make it so you can get to it...???

You are correct: That is where you hook up the hose to suck in antifreeze.

I just took the white cap off, took it with me to the store and found a fitting that would work and about 5-6ft of clear hose that would hook to the fitting. I used clear hose so I could see if it was working or not.

When you're ready to go (valve to the tank off, fitting screwed in, hose in a gallon of pee) make sure you open a faucet to let the pump prime.

Roger that!! Thanks!! I think I'll "hard wire" another valve in the clear hose, leave it on the end of the coach water line (white cap fitting) and just tuck it under the bed for future use. I'll also drain and bypass water heater. Other than that...draining the water tank is all that's left. Thanks friend!!!

I was really dreading this and hat's off to Thor for providing the "pigtail"!

Our Axis takes a little less than two gallons (I always buy 3 and am left with a full one LOL). I don't know how much your coach would take--you can always dump any extra in the sink drains and toilet bowls. For a larger coach like your's I guess at least 3; so I'd buy 4 LOL. (4 gallons is cheaper then having someone fix the pipes.)

Along those lines once running every faucet (including the outside shower, I also slightly depressurize the system and then push on the check valve on the city water connection to make sure pink comes out there) pour some in each sink, shower, and toilet so you get it in the traps, toilet bowl, and the grey & black tanks.

I'd pick up twelve gallons. What isn't immediately used: can easily sold to the folks that waited too long!

We'll see you there. Gonna turn it over at 7AM Monday and Enterprise is bringing us a car. I'm fortunate that my daughter in Asheville is meeting me in Knoxville to go with me so I'll have a "Daddy Daughter Dance" for a few days. I'll get a few jugs of antifreeze and use it for flushing toilets underway. One of my issues is the furnace hasn't worked since new. We can run generator and use electric heaters if necessary but cab heater should be fine while driving and we're staying at campgrounds each night. Looking forward to the trip, meeting the Thor Peeps and touring the factories. Thanks for everyone's advice...this forum has become such a joy for me and I really appreciate all who enter. I enjoy the engagement and the little feuds we sometimes have are no different than any of us do with our family anyway. At his age it's good for the blood pressure. Chance...whatever you say...you're wrong!!

This is the device I made to permanently replace the hard to get to white cap on the pipe spur for winterizing. Now, just screw in the short garden hose and pump away. I might even wait till I get to the "marshaling yard" Sunday at Wakarusa to winterize. I'll have most of Sunday and Sunday night to complete.

Who's going to be there 12/10?
I was just informed our Miramar is ready for pick up Monday. I should get there around 11 or so. It would be GREAT to shake hands with some of you. It's always so good to put a face to a name!
Safe travels everyone...
Michael

Don Gordon, traveling with my daughter Christina. Not sure how quick the check-in process takes here but we'll probably see you in the AM. They are suppose to show up at the door at 7 sharp. Look forward to meeting you!

6:58AM sharp!! Sat down and went over entire list. The tech that came out is the one that will be doing work. He said they would just replace furnace and most likely the water heater instead of trying to trouble shoot and he went over how he would address everything else. He also said, in addition to everything on the list, they go through the entire coach testing tolerances and voltages and in the end, they do a multi-point inspection on everything else...sorta like a general tune-up of all functions. So far...outstanding! Met "BandB" (Bruce) last night. He stopped by on their way out. This place is very impressive. Brand new facility and zero of the "dealer attitude". They will call me back later this morning to give me an estimated completion date. Heading out now for the RV Hall of Fame and to the Chocolate Factory for "lunch".

Don - it was good meeting you in person. I hope all goes well with your coach.
Thor service took great care of us. We did our walk through today & I am really impressed that they addressed all of our concerns & even double-checked things I didn't even ask for. We're heading back home tomorrow morning. Again, good luck, enjoy the trip & have safe travels home.

-Bryce

p.s.- we ran up to Michigan to check out an RV Surplus store & then back- tracked over to Notre Dame University today. We even had time to take our pup out to a doggie park...a good day all around!
