Just some info, no emotions:
Some/many states(maybe 3ven federal law now) allow for you to cancel your warranty at anytime and get the unused portion paid back, first to the lender if you have a lien, or directly to you if you don't have a lien.
If you keep a six year/36,000 warranty for 3 years and 18,000 miles you get half back, NO MATTER IF THE COMPANY PAID OUT $30,000 IN CLAIMS.
Have it one month, get 35/36ths back.
Miles or months/days, whichever favors the warranty company.
REMEMBER THIS ON YOUR NEXT TRADE IN. You can cancel whatever is left on your warranty and get a check back when you trade in or sell the vehicle.
So those unsure of a $6,000 warranty can make it a $1,500 warranty if they feel secure enough.
Just like everything else in life:
If you have a sudden $12,000 to throw at a suddenly thrown piston, don't buy the warranty.
If all you can contribute to the catastrophic is $100monthly(a 60 month warranty at a $6,000 cost) buy the warranty.
$100 a month is peace of mind. (and it's probably closer to $50per month)
