I am still getting used to driving the 30.1, but so far have not found the driving to be much different than I would expect from a big box on a truck chassis. When the wind and traffic was light I found the rig to be quite stable and easy to handle. No particular sway. Camping World was not aware of anything either.
I do keep the speed at 65 or less, but I can believe that at higher speeds, there could be some sway as I do feel a bit of lightness on the wheel at higher speeds.
I have about 500K miles in semi's and thus have some experience in driving big trucks which does not make me a stability expert, but I can say compared to other trucks I have driven, I don't find any serious issue with mine....yet.

my husband and i test drove a 2014 windsport 27k. i noticed the swaying when another car passed while driving 55 on the highway. it really did not want to steer straight. will the "cheap handling fix" also work on the windsport ?

I hope you are not as disappointed as we are with our 30.1 ACE. Ours has no neutral position of steering. We have to constantly move the steering wheel right or left and we zig-zag all over the road. The steering has no center. You cannot take your eyes off the road for a second or you are drifting.

Steering Issues
Has anyone had any luck with Thor regarding the steering issues? I just purchased a 2014 A.C.E. 27.1 and have had no luck keeping it on the road when a semi goes by. I have added a safety plus steering stabilizer which helped with the initial wandering and need for consistent correction to keep it on the road.
Now when on an interstate I am faced with semi's blowing me out of my lane and onto the shoulder. I had to get off of the interstate on my last trip and travel back roads to get home.
I took the unit to a local Ford Dealer and was advised that the F53 chassis is not designed for the motor home that Thor puts on the chassis and this is a constant problem they are seeing with Thor and other manufactures.
I contacted Thor and was advised there was no problem with the unit. The problem was that I didn't know how to drive a motor home?
I am now trying the Cheap Fix and an anti-sway bar. So now not only have I purchased a $100,000 dollar motor home that I can't take on an interstate hwy. I now have to spend another $1,000 plus to HOPEFULLY FIX this defect in Thor's design.
Anyone had any luck getting reimbursed?

Camping World of Panama City Fl. helped some by adjusting the back sway bar to a different factory setting. They also added another sway bar and it all helped some.
Trucks are still a problem. We drive at 55 mph when in heavy traffic, and up to 65 when no trucks are around. We watch for them as they approach us and prepare for the push off the road. I believe this is a dangerous situation that should require a recall.

I agree with the recall idea. My unit has been at FORD for three days and the local dealer has been in touch with Ford for a possible cure. I hope they find one.

I put the SAFE-T-Plus stabilizer on the front of our motor home and that problem was cured.

Mike, do yourself and your loved ones a favor and don't buy anything before you test drive it on the inter-state. As far as the deals at show yes there some, but also a lot of smoke and mirror by dealers. Vinyl graphics vs. painted, low end awnings vs high end. The plumbing fixtures etc., etc. Just take your time and buyer beware. There are good units out there but a lot of junk also. kind of like a a Honda Civic and a Lexis. All of this effects the value when you try to trade or sell. Good luck and research, research.

my husband & i just accepted delivery of our 2014 windsport 27k. i spoke to the parts specialist of camping world berkley & was advised to call and speak to roadmaster. they said to have rear sway bars installed first if that didnt fix our handling issues to have the front done. we decided to have both done at once . so with $39 special install price from camping world it costed us $1800 to have both done. handling is 90% better. i checked my rear tires and the pressure was over 100psi . i do not have extenders on the front tires and could not check them. knowing thor recommends 82(?) i was hesitant on lowering the rear tires and not the front. so i soon as i do that and give it a good test drive i'll post back .

It seems crazy you buy a motor home them have to spend thousands to make it handle or ride to your liking. I am having this experience with my new Hurricane 27k. While we love the overall coach there are many things that need to be "fixed" to make it enjoyable to use.

On the shower issue, you may have already "caulked" it,but our seller said leave the
open edge just above the floor of the shower as is. It lets water drain if it should rise above the drain.
We just bought the 30.2 bunkhouse in late June.Very happy. No wondering problems here.Handling great.
Hope yours keeps you happy!
