Chassis battery replacement

My F53 (2015 chassis) starting battery is beginning to have trouble holding voltage. Still starts fine but I fear replacement may be in order soon. Any opinions on ďregularĒ, ďpremiumĒ, AGM, or Optima vs cost. I.e. is the benefit worth the cost of higher end starting batteries? Iím sort of leaning toward a middle priced conventional one on the theory that I can go through two or even three of them for the cost of the highest cost option. Thanks for opinions.

You'll find plenty of opinions here. I'll go first, as I just replaced the chassis battery in our 2016 Vegas. The original lasted almost 4 years.

It's a group 65, and I went with the sealed version of the wet cell battery. Although it never needed extra water, it was a pain checking the levels, with a mirror and a flashlight. Paid a little more for a longer warranty.

Shop around for the best deal and warranty.

Even with the quick fill attachment it's a pain because you still have to do it. I'm going with sealed wet also on replacement.

For a chassis battery I've always had good service from Interstate brand. I replace all my vehicles stock batteries with the Interstate Megatron.

Thanks for the input. I believe Iíll go with sealed flooded at around $150. Probably at Batteries Plus. Going on a long trip next month and donít want to have to deal with this while traveling.

I have a Sam's Club Duracell that has been in service I think going on five years now. Ford specs a group 65 size with 750 cold crank amps battery. If you're willing to live on the edge you could wait until the first time you need to use the AUX Start to get the engine going as a trigger to replace.

Thatís the one I was looking at. Iíve got a short trip coming up and a 6 week one in a month. Iíll sure see how it goes before I jump on it. My house batteries are 4 years old too and Iím not keen on replacing them all at the same time!
