Fresh Water Tank?

Okay... maybe I am imagining things here with our fresh water tank on our 2016 Axis 24.1. Took it out for the Thanksgiving weekend of dry camping where we ran out of fresh water. Okay, home again and hook up the city water so I can finish flushing out the gray/black tanks. Strangely, the fresh water tank now shows that it is 2/3 full. What the heck? Any ideas?

Typical tank sensors!! All of mine, black/grey/fresh, read either 1/3 or 2/3 regardless of what's actually in them.

Put a 1/4 cup of Calgon water softner & a 1/4 cup of baking soda into the fresh tank. soft water won't " gum up the inside of the tank and the soda will keep the water fresh tasting..

Fresh Water Tank

Got it with the sensor issues... I don't trust them either. Here's the deal though. We actually RAN OUT of water this weekend. It just stopped and the sensors did show that it was out. Now, after having the city water supply hooked up and I did not refill the tank as you normally would, the sensor shows the fresh water tank at 2/3. I turned off the city water, disconnected it completely and turned on the electric water pump.... there is water running again. Still don't get how the fresh water tank would get partially filled by hooking up to city water supply....

You should have a one way check valve in the system that might be stuck open or partially open which is allowing water to flow from the city hookup into the fresh water tank.

yeah you might have some debris in the pump allowing its valves to stay open forcing water back into the tank.

Ditto the check valve, I just lift the access hatch and look at the tank then I know. Will also be adding a deck plate in the tank top for clean out.

Fresh Water Tank

Thank you all. I was thinking the same thing about a valve that wasn't doing its job. It gives me a direction and it will be going in for its final warranty visit in a few weeks at the dealership.
