New Toy: Yi Ultra Dashcam

Having followed many of the dashcam discussions here made me lust after the Yi Ultra Dash Camera. Well I finally said what the heck (yeah see this thread LOL).

It comes with either a sticky mount or a suction cup mount. So I plopped it in the car and took a drive:

(I'll have to aim it a bit better in the RV)

Wow does this thing take some clear shots (on their website they state you can read the license plate #'s clearly).

My reasoning behind grabbing this guy isn't necessarily to capture those maniac's on the road since this is primarily intended for the RV. Instead I want to capture those odd things (you know, like Russian Meteors!) that would be cool to have a pic of but go by too fast to grab the phone (hey look the largest slice of toast by the roadside).

They are great...I have a Garmin VIRB XE and used it with the coach for the first time last weekend. I got it mainly as an eye witness but it's fun to go back and look at those quirky moments...when we got to downtown Cairo, GA the railroad crossbars were stuck in the down position. The local cops were having to raise them by hand to let cars get through. It was so funny to watch them struggle to get them high enough for us to get through with the 12'6". We got coffee and donuts at a local donut hole and took them back to them. It was light drizzle and it made their day!! It was also amazing how the Garmin 770 steered us through a zig-zag pattern of these small towns, avoiding the steep elevated RR crossings and guiding us to the flat ones.

Was taking the RV to a local RV park for winterization so I figured I'd try out the dashcam on the RV. The Axis has some shading at the top 6" or so of the windshield so I put the camera just below that.
