Turning water to ice maker off
We don’t plan to use the ice maker on the refrigerator and I don’t want to deal with draining the ice maker each season.
There’s no exterior panel behind the fridge.
Has anyone permanently bypassed the ice maker?
How hard is it? How can I do that?
The RV is a 2017 Thor Outlaw 38RE.

Not sure of your setup but my fridge has a drawer underneath. Pull the drawer out and you can access the waterline there. Turn the valve off or disconnect and plug the line. The ice maker is one of our favorite features so I let the "Pink Panther Pee" cycle through the ice maker when winterizing...reverse process when de-winterizing.

I’m planning to winterize using air vs. antifreeze next time. Maybe if it’s not too much of a PiTA we’ll leave it connected. But if it’s a PiTA, it’s getting disconnected...

You can always do what I did. Forget to blow it out and have it freeze before disconnecting.

I dry winterize a couple times every year before using anti freeze. Leave the system under pressure for a few hours and the ice maker will clear. The fridge water line connects to a valve somewhere. Mine was under the bottom kitchen cabinet drawer about a foot to the left of the fridge.

When you say pressure do you mean air pressure?

Yes, between 30 and 40 PSI. This is also a good way to check for leaks in the fresh water system. If the air pressure in the system drops too fast there is a leak.
In the spring when I am de-winterizing I will use air pressure to blow the anti-freeze out of the system and then let pressure sit in the system to check for leaks.

The shut off valve for water and icemaker on my tuscanny is outside behind a door with a keylock on it,i dont use them so I winterized both and shut the valve off so water can never get back into them.

I found the water valve for the ice maker. It’s behind a drawer under the oven. When I winterize next week (pink) I’ll close the valve and never turn it back on. That way there will be pink in the line and I won’t have to worry about it.
Now to figure out the pre staged washer dryer lines!

As for the washer, look for a removable panel in the linen cabinet next to the washer/dryer. In our Palazzo, the shutoff valve is behind the panel with 4 screws.

Thank you. I have removed the pantry panel and know where the spigots are that turn the water off at the WD hookup. I still don’t know if there’s water in the lines _to_ the spigots. My issue is whether there is a way to shut off water to the spigots before it goes into the lines...
