House Battery 2020 Thor ACE 32.3 Class A

Ready to tear out what little hair I have left. The house batteries in my coach for 3 years old and not holding a charge. I'm looking to replace them myself but I can only see the battery manufacturer (Powertron) as the other identifying info was rubbed off by the battery holddown strap.

I know I need deep cycle type batteries, but still researching the AGM/Gel styles as the best course of action.

I would greatly appreciate ANY information anyone has on the subject.

Do a forum search. Multiple LONG threads with discussions about battery replacement and types.

You need the biggest batteries that will fit in your compartment if planning on doing any boondocking - likely type 31s.

You have 3 categories to choose from:

FLA - Flooded Lead Acid - standard auto/marine battery technology with water level maintenance required. Cheapest option.

Maintenance Free - Either SLA (Sealed Lead Acid) or more commonly AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat). No maintenance required but comes at a premium price.

Lithium (LiFePO4) - Much lighter than the 2 alternatives, can get some almost as cheap as AGMs now but may require changes to your charging system and house/chassis interconnect device (BIM).

After much research AGM GROUP 31.
SAMS CLUB WALMART HAS THEM FOR $179 if you can find them

As difficult as it is to check water in not only the house batteries but also the chassis battery, I’m going with AGM when I replace.
