Chassis battery dead

I thought when plugged into shore power all batteries get changed. Chassis battery reads 2.1v on my Thor Challenger 37FH. House batteries are at 13.6. Any thoughts

Your BIM or BIRD/Trombetta is not working correctly.

Check the thread ,CHASSIS COACH BATTERY VOLTAGE , its a very good explanation and test procedure. The BIM is what isolates your coach battery from your chassis battery. When plugged into shore power you should hear a click up fr every 30 to 45 minutes and see both battery voltages the same then hear click again and chassis battery drop to around 12.6 or 12.8 also try using your emergency start button on dash,if engine starts check chassis battery voltage should go up to about 14.4

Had trickle charger going all night. Only made it to 2.4v. Won’t emergency start. Going to jump it so I can move it and then the meter will come out

What does an inverter have to do with a dead chassis battery?

An inverter is connected to the house battery bank and takes the 12 VDC and inverters to 120 VAC for use in the coach. Some inverters also have an integral charger but that would charge the house battery bank which was apparently already being charged since it was 13.6 VDC by your first post.

I have no idea but everything is back to normal. I’m still new to how the electrical system operates. Been roughly 7hrs since the initial problem and the battery is reading 13.1v.

Hi. My chassis battery died after two days still connected to shore power but I have the house batteries removed for storage. Any ideas on the reason.

How old is the battery?
Water level?
Load tested?
Stuff left plugged into power outlets on the dash?

Battery is 2 years old, water level good, load tested ok and nothing plugged in....I am guessing the BIM is bad or I have a parasite load on the battery.

Did you have the charger off also?

My charger button is directly above the inverter button

I don't know what brand or series inverter you have so

All of mine have had both an inverter and charger button/switch very close together

They illuminate making it easy to see what is powered
