I forgot the Pi (3.14159) in my equation.

So I meant to say 24,190 miles well south of I-8/I-10. Looks like that portable heater didn't work
But is she scrolling through the womens swimsuit ads?

No, my wife does not read the site; she just thinks I am a RV Super Expert helping you guys out The women in those ads wouldn't phase her. I guess they are geared toward older men? I find the ads amusing, but truth be told my wife got me trained right, I am not falling for the bait, "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush".

Now when the Hero Wars Ad pops up with the anime character bent over giving you two choices (moves), I do change the screen when she walks by.

Our forecast has changed and it is now projected to be 5 degrees colder next Thursday at 10 degrees!!!

With the temperatures expected below freezing for 3 days now, I think I need to fully winterize, no pink stuff except the toilet and P traps when finished.

Unless I hear a better idea, I am going to use a Forecast of 15 below with 48 hours or more of freezing temperature as my guideline. I will otherwise do this sometime today before going back to work next week.

I think I would "Put it in the Wind" to Rio Hondo or South Padre Is. for this week, then Call in to Work and tell them You are still "Froze Up" for another week.

With the independent TX grid, I would not count on electricity for Thursday through Christmas. I filled up with gas and propane last week just encase. I remember "February Freeze" only too well.

Yup, We were @ Twin Palms in Rio Hondo.. Didn't have any issues, however, those without generators or were dependent on Propane for heat or power were in a fix.

Ah so you didn't buy my being stranded 7,700 miles well south of I-8/I-10?

It is the Pegasus Wreckage. Actually quite a story in it's own right so here is justice for your curiosity.

https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/pegasus-wreck

Miraculously, the 80 people aboard the plane survived the crash with no major injuries. They were all rescued and able to carry on with their Antarctic research largely unharmed, though likely a bit rattled.

We are visiting family and the Temps during the day will be in the 20s.

Would there be any potential issues retracting the slide?

Plan on using the heat pump for additional heat driving back.

Cheers

I would only worry about bringing the slide in if it has frozen precipitation on it. Make sure you’re level. Hold button for 5 seconds after it stops.

In VA with the Cold approaching

Set up with propane, power and fresh water. Heater pads for Black and Grey turned on, ceramic heater on in coach (to conserve propane). Was thinking we'd be okay, even in the 15F at night. Then last night it dawned on me that the fresh water drain just hangs out in the open from the bottom of the tank to the valve on the side. Anybody seen that line freeze up? Wouldn't be an issue on freezing, but having to crawl under and replace if it split, then it thaws and all fresh water drains, might be a pain.

Heat pump only good to 40 degrees. Colder and it’s no good.

Mine says the same. I have used it down to 40 with no problems. Mfg is managing your expectations.

Why is everyone afraid to run the generator while driving? Run it and keep it healthy rather than not run it and turn it into garbage. My generator usually runs from the time I disconnect shore power until the time we check into the next location and connect. Over 600 hours of runtime across 25,000 miles of travel.

I just finished camping for 3 nights in Williams, AZ. Night temp dropped to 9 degrees one night, then low 20s for 2 nights. Daytime between mid 40s to 50s. I placed small space heater in the wet bay, where most of my exposed waterlines are, as well as partial black and grey tanks. I filled up my fresh water tank. I set my furnace at 75, which kept the inside of the RV pretty comfortable. Nothing froze.

Consider bringing in the slide before it gets super cold. It’ll probably work just fine - unless it’s covered with ice or something. But bringing it in reduces the volume that you have to try to keep warm and reduces the surface area that is exposed to the cold helping to reduce the heat loss.

Never but once had to run the generator while traveling in the winter. Now always do in the hot summer for the AC's. When I clean and work on the inside of the RV in the summer, I always run the generator and use the AC's to load it down.
