I have been using a local UHaul near my house before I go out, otherwise I usually buy it at the campground if available for my propane needs.

AllStays
Use the app called AllStays. It lists RV campgrounds and other places you can filter your search for places selling propane.

To me it's like shopping potato chip prices.
Sure I can save a dollar at walmart vs Fry's.
I don't unless I happen to be in Wal-Mart.
I think we paid $2.24 when we prepaid 1,000 gallons of propane. I thinks it's $2.74 delivered now.
They fill my 20lb tanks for me if I set them out.
I have an odd attitude about home propane.
I'm buying it no matter what the price.
Our break even electric vs propane is $3pg+- propane.

Regarding residential propane (which, like you, I rely on for basic survival)...
- I’ve learned to time my one yearly fill-up of our 500 gal tank (80% max fill = 400 gal) to July/August
That is, if I fill today during middle of winter, it’s $2.69 or more
But if I wait until middle of summer, it’s $2.29 or less
So, $.40/gal savings x 350 gal to fill = $140 total saved

Also... most natural gas utility providers have a booth for drive-up propane fill at their facilities.

Calico,
I just checked AllStays. In addition to RV Campgrounds that offer propane (natural gas) for sale, AllStays listed a marine supply store, Ferrell Gas (LPG gas supplier for homes and businesses), U-Haul Moving and Storage, Tractor Supply Company and Busters Butane and Propane. All of these within 20 miles of my location.
I think that the user participation in AllStays makes it a great app for RVers.

Just to be clear!
Natural gas & propane (LPG) are 2 different products. Natural gas is just that, a gas. Propane (LPG, liquified petroleum gas) is a liquid that when opened converts to a gas.
Not sure I understand the "drive up booth for propane" at a natural gas provider???
You could find a natural gas filling facility at some truck stops that also sell propane, but not at the same spot.

LPG also includes butane which is usually much cheaper (30%) and has 12% more btu per gallon. The downside is it vaporizes at 30 F degrees which limits it uses to warm weather. The air supply to the burner also should be adjusted when converting to maximize efficiency but it not necessary.

It does show Tractor Supply, UHaul and some propane distributers, but in my area at least (NE) it does not show RV campgrounds that sell propane, nor does it show all propane distributers. I suspect like many such apps you have to specifically request being added to that category for it to show up.

Propane App
Thanks to those of you that mentioned "all stays" and iExit.
I actually have both of these and find them valuable.
However, the thing they are missing is the price.
While Flying J and other brand sites will have their prices, they clearly aren't going to tell you the price from the guy across the street.
I like the feature that GasBuddy has (for gasoline of course) in providing everyone's pricing.
Wish I could find it for all propane prices.
And again, I am not going to go out of my way, just trying to find the cheapest between points A and B.
BTW - I also wish that costco allowed you to search by Propane availability. But alas, they do not.
