Ceramic Window Tint

A while ago on the forums someone had stated they were going to have their coach's windows done with ceramic tint. I searched ceramic tint and couldn't find the thread so here I am asking. Did anyone have the front windows in their coach done with the ceramic tint? If so how happy are they with it? How much and was it worth the cost?
I am seriously considering having it done.
The reason for that big windshield is to see the world either while driving or parked. It sucks having to sit inside a coach with the windows covered over with Reflectex trying to keep the summertime sun's heat out.

Yes, I did mine about Two years ago. I love it. I would do it again. The front windsheild was "clear tint" but its actually 15%. It helps tremendously but its still not as effective as the reflextive bubbles. I did ALL of my windows (Even the factory tinted windows). It reject so much more heat than the OEM... Like night and day differnce.

Its great for driving, the AC works better up front, you squint less, the interior of the RV stays line new longer, you wont get sun burnt etc.

WHile we travel durring the sumer we DO NOT put the bubbles in the windows while eating lunch or taking a break (Pain in the ...) but once you park for several hours or over night I always put the bubbles in. The AC has a hard time keeping up during the heat of the summer (90+).

But if the temps are in the 80's it works great.

I highly recommend the Cermic tint on ALL windows. I even covered my shower skylight with a scrap of tint.....tremendous results.... bathroom much cooler now and gives you all of the light.

I echo the above, I have done this in all my cars including the front windshield. When I took delivery of my rig and drove cross country it was literally the first thing I had done when I got home, and it was a night and day difference. The sun feels much less strong and it helps keep the front cool while driving. I only had the windshield and front windows including the doggie window done. Worth every penny on all the vehicles I've done this on including the RV.

Where do you go; in order to get this process applied to your RV's windows?

Any car window tint place can do it although some won’t work on RVs because they won’t fit in the shop bay. I’m sure you can find one that’ll work outside in the spring . And there are mobile services too. Look for an experienced shop or ask at a car dealer who they use. It’s a nice product though on the expensive side....of course!

I had my done at Tint World. Why?
They have locations all over the country so if something happens to go wrong. You have a dealer near. Not back at home base.

I posted about tinting the windows in our 2018 Thor Windsport 29m. It made a HUGE DIFF in the heat I summer and coldness in winter of the living area. They put it on the inside like other tinting but it blocks way more heat and UV rays. I used an almost clear tint on the front windshield because It's Illegal to tint front windows in many states AND it still works the same and removes glare. It cost $1600 to do every window in our coach. I think the company name was Sun Setters and there in Concord, NC. May be other locations elsewhere?? Good Luck; Bob Trice

As I stated I used Tint World. They had to order extra wide material in order to do the front windshield. They also did both drivees and passenger side windows for $600.00.
I thought of do the other windows as well, but went we are set up I have Magne Shades. They reduce the heat gain by 32+ %. We get the comfort and the view as well. During the day we can see out, but everyone on the outside can't see in. Now I think I have about $1,500.00 in the shades

I did ceramic tints Almost 2 years before. I tinted every window on top of the factory tint. Factory tints are not good quality at all. I realize that in our first trip to the beach. It was 96° outside and the air conditioner could not keep up. After doing some research I invested on ceramic tint. . shop recommended to go 5% dark Except in the cab area not to dark. I love the outcome of tinted windows. It also looks really great. If you want better results you have to go darker but you will lose the daylight view. If my blinds are up nobody can see from inside or outside during night time. I also made reflextix window covers. Love the results of both. Before you choose how dark you want, lay a piece of tint on window and look from inside and outside. Try couple of them at tint shop. Good luck.

I can understand how it can get uncomfortable sitting inside with all the sun's heat coming in. Have you had a chance to check out some reviews or ask around for recommendations?
