Command Electronics LED Tail Lights

Had no back up lights. Using a dab of rust buster, needle nose pliers and my "emergency sailor words", I got the bulbs out.

Rusted. Spent about an hour cleaning the contacts.

I ordered a set of the Command Electronics Tail Lights. Is there any reason I cannot solder them in place, using shrink wrap?. I know there is moisture there and am hesitant on using connectors.

I believe if you call Command Electronics you can get the tail lights with Thor connectors on them. Then its just a unplug and replug to replace them.

In my case I did not do that and ended up cutting the wires and joining them. I didn't solder but used some terminal type blocks.

Prior to that, however, I used Flex Seal on the recesses that the lights insert into so that the area would be water proofed and I also picked up a sheet of rubber from Home Depot and cut out a new gasket (instead of the foam one that comes with the lights).
