Disable safety feature that prevents RV from turning on while ignition is on

I have a 2018 Thor Four Winds 30d. This is our first RV. To our surprise we were not able to turn TV and DVD player on while the ignition is on but RV and dvd will turn on if ignition is off. Any help to fix this issue or workaround?

The search function is your friend. Do a search and there are plenty of posts of how this can be achieved.

Now be advised that many state laws do not allow TV's to be on while a vehicle is in motion. Some laws clearly state TV's within the drivers view and other laws do not.

Past MH had a relay buried with some other wiring that turned off the 120VAC to the TV receptible. The coil had a wire line down to a connection point where it picked up the ignition on and off. When the 12VDC was on with the ignition line the coil picked up and turned the 120VAC off. Normally it would just pass the 120VAC through if the ignition was off.
Had to replace the relay so found it and and hardwired the connection as we did not use that TV over the front.
Is it correct that this is there to prevent people from watching TV going down the road when they are in the driver's seat. Nanny state....

You are correct on the purpose of the cutoff. That is the same reason why DVD players installed in the dash of automobiles are supposed to have a cutoff.

...And why you're not supposed to be watching movies: when you should be driving your Tesla...
