I don't understand the cause of the tail-wag, and I don't understand how the u-bolts help.
I found that towing a 12 foot, enclosed trailer with dual axels stabilizes our Windsport 27K .

My hitch had some play in it. That would allow the toad to move from side to side. When I added the U bolts it took all the play out of the hitch.

I had a problem because of a sloppy fit between the receiver and the ball mount on our van. It would rattle continuously. I laid down several parallel weld beads on the ball mount and then ground down the welds until it fit snugly into the receiver.

Did my oil change and greased all the front fittings. Found this. Off to Ford i go. Thankfully Ford has 3 year warranty
Jerry
ps. Its the rear drag link boot. The front drag link blew out shortly after buying the mh. It could have been bad from the factory. Never checked it til i went to lube it
So crawl under your mh and check your boots

Ford does not service the individual boot but does service the entire link. So the repair is remove and replace with the same assembly which soon fails again (in my case). For do-it-yourself, guys the bushings are available with metal tops which will slide on the link and resist tearing.

They might tell you that you applied too much grease to the fitting.

Could be you are right, but with a failure rate reported on IRV2, I would suspect the boot's fit is too tight for the shaft.

Hi Jerry,
Which Ford dealership are you going to use? I'm not sure there are any around San Berdoo -- possibly Sunrise Ford in Fontana. (Now you've given me something else to do!)

I go to Rush Truck Center. Theyre located at the 605/60. They are a ford service center

The only place in Denver that will work on F-53 motor homes is also a Rush Truck Center too. The techs and service managers are good but the lady behind the service desk needs customer service training. I suspect she’s someone’s relative. We need to take the ACE in this spring for some maintenance services and I may also have them put on a set of Sumos. DW thinks I’m too old to do it myself. Fronts would be simple, but the rears are too much

Thank you, sir. I also just found out that Transwest Truck Center in Fontana is a certified commercial Ford service center. I called them and they verified that they handle everything from commercial sales to service...and they do warranty work, as well. The reason they don't have Ford in their name is they also handle Mitsubishi commercial and Thomas buses, among other things.
I guess that's where I would go for issues like what you found -- and alignments. I asked about their price for oil change (just out of curiosity) and it's about $105. We sure are saving a lot by doing it ourselves!...and it's easy!
Cheers!
Kent

Hey, I added an Amazon Fire TV Stick and you can get all the Smart TV benefits without having to change the TVs...cost $37.99 on Amazon. If you use it in the distribution device instead of the back of the tv, it will go to all tvs in the RV...remote is RF not IR so it works outside also. Also has voice, so no typing to search for programs. Works with the campground WIFI

That’s what we use. Didn’t know about the distribution device. Now all I have to do is find that.....
