Which is better?
We can't answer that for you ... Ask yourself which one makes you feel more comfy at night.

And happy shopping!

The first thing we bought after getting our Challenger was a new mattress. The one that came in it was like sleeping on a piece of wood. We ordered a short queen innerspring from Parklane. Came in a box about 12"square and 5' tall. We've been very happy with it.

How much are you willing to spend? We bought a sleep number for our coach. Wouldn’t camp without it. They make a short queen and all different sizes. If you watch you can usually find a good sale for them. But they come with 25 year warranties so well worth the cost

Man are you skinny or what? LOL.

Im looking for a mattress as well. Thinking of going with the "cool gell" or memory foam type. Just need to find the best price and pull the trigger.

I found on our Hurricane that Thor has special sizes. I went to a local mattress manufacturer (Custom Comfort). Was about $750 to make one to our specifications, but as luck would have it, they had one in the back that someone ordered and never picked up. So I only paid $750 for their top of the line mattress.

I grew up in a barn so sleeping on something that feels like a potato sack full of wheat straw is comfortable to me.

I actually just went with a very thick foam topper which offset the junky mattress. Probably doesn't work for everyone, but a lot cheaper.

Memory foam topper

We have a queen Denver mattress which is nothing to write home about. We bought the top of the line, Serta Perfect Sleeper mattress topper, after K bucks- coupons- sale price for ~$125.00. It makes the bed feel like very good, firmest pillow top mattress like the one in our bedroom.

One option is a Tempurpedic foam. They make several versions and a regular queen can be cut down with a long filet or electric carving knife. They are $$$ though.
On the Omni we initially put an egg crate foam topper on it to help. It was one that the GF had previously ordered from amazon to make pads for her 5th wheel bunkhouse. It was a laminate and memory foam top layer, 3" think. She reordered the same thing but what came was a NON memory foam laminate. It was comfortable but very hot, heat retaining. Unfortunately we had cut it to size so couldn't return it. Don't know if the switch wasn't an amazon switcheroo , mistake, or what. At any rate the stock mattress is actually OK for the time being but I suspect it will collapse sooner than later. I'll then look at replacements.

Since I spend what seems a lot of time under the mattress upgrading the electrical system, a light weight mattress is necessary, so no memory foam or innerspring. Second problem is my back is what it used to be after 26 years sitting in an ejection seat. The standard foam Denver mattress that came with the Hurricane was ok for about 300 nights, but I began to want something firmer. I settled on a 4 inch short queen topper by Zinus. We have only used it for the Spring and Summer, but after 59 nights sleeping on it, it sleeps better than I thought it would. My back likes it as well as the sticks and bricks, Denver Doctor's Choice, Firm.
